A success story that began with friendship and evolved into a strategic partnership
Young engineers Safouh Al-Tawil and Ramez Raslan met in the 1950s while studying engineering at Cairo University. A close friendship developed between them, sparking a long-term professional collaboration. After returning to Homs, the two engineers began their professional careers at the General Water Corporation.
Later, Engineer Safouh moved into the field of freelance business, where he left his clear mark by implementing numerous strategic projects in Homs and other Syrian governorates. Engineer Ramez continued his academic journey to the United Kingdom, where he earned a doctorate from the University of Manchester. Throughout his career, he has established a distinguished academic stature, contributing to the development of infrastructure through the major projects he supervised and influencing generations of civil engineering students during his university teaching.
The friendship between the two engineers developed into a close relationship between the two families, resulting in joint cooperation on several important projects across Syria. With the entry of Akram Al-Tawil, the son of Engineer Safouh, into the business world in 2002, the partnership developed effectively, resulting in the establishment in 2007 of the Raslan & Tawil Company, the exclusive agent for the Turkish company Teksan Generators in Syria.
With the dawn of freedom in the new Syria, the company expanded its operations into the Raslan and Tawil Trading Group, which today includes three major specialized companies, with a fourth company under formation.
